The Story Behind 25 Keys to a Happy Life
I had no intention of writing any books in Ramadan 1444/2023. I was going through some of the biggest trials in my life and was not in a good place emotionally. I entered Ramadan feeling broken and sad.
To fix my own internal issues, I decided to engage in self-therapy through writing. The process I chose was to identify teachings from the Quran and Sunnah had help reframe one’s mind positively and reflect on these teachings.
Focusing on fixing my own mind and rediscovering internal happiness during a difficult time, I wrote every day that Ramadan, until by the 27th night, I had produced a full manuscript highlighting 25 keys to happiness from the Quran and Sunnah
.
These 25 keys have helped greatly. I was able to pull myself together and move forward despite my trials. Because of this, this book is precious to me. It has helped me spiritually and now I wish to share it with the world so others can benefit to.
The premise of the book is simple: happiness is not found in wealth, fame, entertainment or possessions. Genuine happiness comes from a purposeful life committed to God, supplemented with valuable relationships and good character.
The Quran and Sunnah are full of gems that train our minds to think better. The Quran reminds us that “It is only in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find peace.” (Surah al-Rad 13:28)
And the Sunnah reminds us that “The best worldly joy is a righteous spouse.” (Sahih Muslim 1467)
These are two samples of the treasury of verses and narrations I reflect on in this book. I pray that you find this book as valuable as I did, and that Allah accepts our efforts and makes this a means of guidance for many.
